For 30 years, Saint Elizabeth Adult Day Care Center has been serving the needs of aged and special needs persons in the St. Louis area. We provide for your loved ones a comfortable, secure, friendly, and faith-based community with whom they can spend their days. Our program promotes enrichment of the mind, body, and spirit through compassionate care. Care is given without regard to race, color, sex, age, handicap, religion, or national origin. Everyone who participates in our program shares in the opportunity to celebrate life again and again. Today, as a fully accredited, non-profit adult day care center, St. Elizabeth continues its long and familiar tradition of delivering outstanding service and commitment to its participants through the local governance of its Board of Directors, dedicated management, and caring staff, as well as through the sponsorship of the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood of O'Fallon, MO. In January,2006, the Lemay Center opened on the campus of St. Andrew Parish where it is located on the 1st floor of one of the former school buildings. The rooms were adapted for use by St. Elizabeth Adult Daycare. There are two activity rooms to accommodate the needs of a population ranging in age from 21-90+. All are served meals in a common dining room and enjoy mutual gatherings in a multi-purpose room for visiting entertainment, craft projects…The rooms are bright and cheerful. The staff spends time interacting with the participants as the scheduled activities are enjoyed in a "safe, comfortable, wholesome and stimulating environment" (mission statement). A special feature of the Lemay site is the opportunity to interact with the children in the pre-school class which is held down the hallway. "Oh here come the children" is a comment voiced as the sound of their laughter and the patter of little feet is heard as they exit the building. They often stop in to say good-bye and even participate in certain activities that seem like "fun" to them. The staff focuses on respecting the uniqueness and capability of each individual in an effort to keep each participant as socially, mentally, and physically involved as possible. We are here for care-givers and their loved ones.
