In many situations, the program allows older persons or those with disabilities to live at home or with family members during the evenings and weekends. Providing caregivers with a respite during the weekdays, Diakon Adult Day Services at Manatawny offers a comfortable and stimulating setting in which participants enjoy a myriad of services and amenities. Participants are supervised in a secure setting by a registered nurse/program director and program assistants. Together, they encourage participants’ maximum level of participation, potentially preventing social isolation or premature placement in a care center.
