The Salvation Army Serendipity Adult Day Services is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of adults with cognitive and functional impairments. Throughout the day, there are engaging activities including music, exercise, socializing, trivia, discussion groups, walking program, crafts and more which providing participants the opportunity to use their skills in meaningful occupations throughout the day. Our day program hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. However, participant schedules are arranged according to individual and family needs. A hot lunch and two snacks are provided under the direction of our registered dietician consultant. Individual nutritional needs will be accommodated if possible. We respect the dignity of our participants and provide them care and compassion. We are committed through our program of health, social and therapeutic activities to the independence and well-being of older persons, as well as to the provision of predictable respite for caregivers. We follow the philosophy of Person Centered Care which recognizes that individuals are not defined by disease or disability but by their uniqueness as human beings. We value each person's abilities and acknowledge their contributions. As such, the need for love, comfort, inclusion, identity, occupation and attachment are respected as universal needs throughout life. Activities are focused around the strengths and interests of the individual. Serendipity incorporates these universal needs into every day programming to ensure each guest has many successful interactions throughout their day.
