About My Second Home

My Second Home, established in 1998, offers a refreshing and innovative intergenerational approach to adult day services, and is an affordable alternative to assisted living or nursing home care. Our unique intergenerational day program - the only one of its kind in Westchester County and a model for the nation - offers older adults a safe, supervised, home-like environment with wellness activities, personal care, excellent nutrition, and transportation services. My Second Home provides impaired older adults the opportunity to age in place, while supporting and strengthening the family system of caregivers who wish to keep loved ones at home and engaged in the community. The staff at My Second Home is trained in geriatric care, and expert at dealing with the many aging issues that face older adults and their families, including dealing with dementia. The JEWEL Program, Joining Elders with Early Learners, brings together older adults and children from The Mt. Kisco Child Care Center on a daily basis to share activities as well as life experiences. Regular activities include horticulture, yoga, stories, songfests, and art projects, as well as celebrating special occasions. By blending activities for adults and children, both age groups acquire an understanding of shared values and respect for individuals at every stage of life.
