At the STARS Program we ensure that your loved one get's a chance to participate in a safe, fun, and nurturing community while you get the break that you need. One of the biggest issues facing a 24 hour caregiver is finding the time to take care of themselves. One of the biggest issues facing a person with Dementia is staying active and social. This is where the STARS Program comes in. We provide up to 5 hours per day of fun games, art/craft projects, demonstrations, group discussions, music therapy, pet therapy, physical games, exercise, and even an occasional field trip. Participants can attend as many as 5 days a week, depending on availability. Our trained staff provide great activities, snacks/lunch, personal care and medication assistance, if needed. All are trained in CPR/First Aid. Each program site has a ratio of 1 staff member per 5 participants. We provide service to adults with permanent disabilities; so it's not just for people with Dementia! We have clients with Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, Developmental Delay (Downs or Williams Syndrome, Autism), Physical ailments (like hip problems), Traumatic Brain Injury, Mental Health Issues, Heart ailments, or even undiagnosed adults who just need extra looking after during the day in order to stay safe.
